I realize this idea of a mortar is not new. But I saw a post by theexp on spudtech with a similar design and they were trying to come up with a better way to activate the switch. The switch is the only part that's new about it.

I have a question on that topic. I am planning to use a 12 gram CO2 cartridge on one of my guns, can i just attach it straight to my gun or do i need a regulator?

i say CO2 is dangerous because i get the impression that this user is new to potato guns. In other words i refuse to recommend anything that has a capacity of "1800 psi" to a newbie. Personally I will be getting a CO2 system as soon as i get the money for a regulator.

I would recommend that you use a 1/8" NPT Tap in order to thread the hole you are using for the tire valve (note: drill a 21/64" hole). Then to seal the valve use some teflon tape.
