End caps sometimes fit flush inside a coupler so you could try that.

Technician i'm interested in how you connected the HDPE to the drill press if the hole didn't go all the way through the piston?

Thanks for all the replies. for B: buy a thread cutting tool to extend the thread of the bolt to the head. Then you use two nuts to fix the washer. I have never used one before, are they hard to get the right pitch? I think i might go back to Bunnings and try find a bolt that already has threads fur...

OK thanks guys. Ok yeah that makes sense. I went ahead today and used the 1" sprinkler valve just to be safe. But now I can't get the piston to seal. :? You might be having the same problem as me. Also would an extra rubber seal on the seat help or probably just get blown off (with approx. 120 PSI)?

I am having the same problem getting my piston to seal.
Does rounding the seat result in a better seal?

Biopyro thanks for the advice on the ratio's; I'm thinking of using a 90cm barrel with a 40cm chamber as i cannot getting any pressure rated pipe larger than 50mm at my local hardware store. I'm not too sure what a cigarette piezo is but I'm using an igniter from a BBQ (might have been a misundersta...

Yes your right there isn't much space. My only reason for going semi coaxial in the beginning is because i wanted to reduce the total length of the launcher without making the C:B ratio worse. As i said i have little to no experience with combustion cannons and i thought 3-4 mm would be enough space...

I have tried both but there not really what i am looking for. I probably should have been more specific but I'm looking for a program to do basic sketch-ups of objects. Google Sketchup seems to me more landscape oriented and Blender is more of an animation program. Maybe i haven't really utilized th...
