As Gun Freak said, you can make a piston with an o-ring to solve this issue. You can use a piston without an o-ring with good results. I have one on a cannon im working on and it works great. But it has to be tight enough When using a piston without an o-ring it should fit fairly tight. with it insi...

Well leaking isnt my main concern. Like Fnord said, its a weak point. Especially with that piston slamming into it. Could potentially break or pop off the cannon. Could be bad news. But, seeing as how you fire it with it facing the ground, i guess it couldnt cause too much damage if it fails. But i ...

I havent been into building for a while now, but last i heard, clean outs were bad. Especially on pneumatics. I would be careful with that thing. Possible replace it. But, i could be wrong. Otherwise, nice cannon. I bet it makes some noise eh? Oh an your pictures arent displaying correctly. Atleast ...

McMaster-Carr question about pressure rating

Hey, its been a while since ive posted, or even read anything on here. But, I thought it was time to dive back into an old hobby i used to enjoy so much. Anyway, i read in a thread earlier that anything on McMaster-Carr's website with the rating of "NSF-61" was rated for pressure. But while reading ...

Point taken PCGUY. And i apologize on my behalf. I meant no desrespect. I only intended to voice my opinions about the sponsor. I apologize if i came off the wrong in doing so. I guess i was seeing it as the sponsors should benefit us (the members) more than the visitors. I understand that the canno...

I agree, And as stated, while the machining is impressive, it carries no importance to many people here. And i agree with you sputnick, a gold turd is still a turd. Again, while impressive, what you make is essentially the same thing as what any of us make. You may machine it far more precisely with...

I agree. I just looked at the site. I think they are making things much more difficult than they really are. The gun they are charging 1099 for could easily be made for 30 dollars (US) without all of the extra fancy things. Im not trying to critisize their business or anything, but like someone said...

If you look again it does say "ASTM Specification ASTM D1784, ASTM D2466" Which, like mark says, means the fitting is rated as high as the pipe is. It says its not rated to maximum pressure. It doesnt say it is not to be used with pressure. If mark is right, im im almost certain he is, then the fitt...

It's not always freezing here moron. I almost pooped my pants when i read that. Its not ok to insult anyone. And especially a senior member such as starman. Hes helped me on many occasions. And in my opinion, is among the smarter of the members here. Anyway I like the cannon. It seems kind of awkwa...

Ive never read that article about Ryan before and alot of parts of it kind of intrigued me. They make it sound as if it was the cannons fault. Everything that happend was his fault. I dont mean to sound so hateful about it but its the truth. There was a sentence that particularly bothered me. It sai...

If i were you i would just go to lowes, or the hardware store you go to, and buy a rubber washer of the right size.

Its very tough and thick enough to resist tears of most kinds. I use it on a 2 inch piston. Seals everytime and has held up for months.
