A Tribute to JSR Having not looked in for a few months I read that and thought JSR might have had one HPA-epoxy incident too many  Glad to see that's not the case  Anyway Mako, you know you can easily use a filler with your epoxy to color it wothout any appreciable loss of strength, it ...

Am I doing something wrong? No. Plastic pipe's just expensive over here, it's only used in industry and for niche applications so you can only generally get it in large quantities, with expensive postage. This isn't necessrily all bad, you have to plan carefully and might as well build big while yo...

Cleaner and primer are definatly not the same thing. I would check on that if I were you... Maybe not in your corner of the world, but that's not where the poster is from, check the manufacturers page: http://www.henkel.com/pipe-adhesives-cleaners-17553-17640.htm I would say Optimum partial dissolu...

I've used both of these places in the past, Kiowa is quite expensive but you can buy just 1m of pipe at a time, irrigation UK is cheaper for most things. http://www.irrigationuk.com/glue-solvent-cleaner-tape-thread-sealants/cat_1767.html?page=1 http://www.kiowa.co.uk/Solvents_Cleaners both sell ceme...

That stuff's not for pressure rated PVC, just things like waste pipe and guttering, you can't usually buy the proper stuff on the street. Are you using pressure rated pipe? If so you should be able to get the correct cement from the same place. In the UK primer is called cleaner and is clear, but la...

A certain crazy French forum member took paintball bottles to 40x Alas said crazy frenchman also has a nice field to shoot in, not a garage attached to the side of his house :( I was going to take it up to 4x but I first found a 60ml syringe, then calculated the required fuel volume as something li...

Thanks for all the comments guys. What do the suppressors look like internally? They're a bit primitive really, just some holes drilled in the barrel near the muzzle and the outer chamber filled with wire wool and sealed, I'm not convinced they're doing a lot but I didn't want to have to build two c...

Double barrelled 3x hybrid
This is yet another of my completely un-planned cannons, seeing a pack of these on the shelf: http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii62/balee88/P1020211.jpg I was intrigued and couldn't resist the dual temptations of alcoholic beverage and a novel preesure vessel. The lager was unexceptional but I lik...

It's not just been discussed before, it's been done, see the first link in my sig. Instead of using a burst disk in my pre-loaded chamber, it was the burst disk. In the unlikely event of it going off accidently it would of probably scared the crap out of me but that would be about all as I kept my d...

A question about suppressors, I'm making a hybrid and want to make it as quiet as possible. For this I'm planning on a full length barrel shroud and can probably make it about 3 times the combined barrel and chamber volume. The barrel length is around 65cm and I will probably drill the last 10cm wit...

Just to further confuse things, a male BSP taper will seal well with a female parallel thread, but a male parallel thread will not work well with a female taper. Generally speaking taper threads are used more for plumbing, and parallel threads, which require an o-ring or washer for sealing, for pneu...

They aren't air cylinders Hydraulics? I guess air cylinders wouldn't stand a chance at supplying the clamping force necessary to keep a burst disk that size in place at those mixes. I used linear actuators (ok, powerdrills ) a few years ago to do something similar (see first cannon in my sig) ...
