Re: Is spudding dead?
Funny, I only stopped by here after a year to see if anyone was still around as I was throwing out some half-finished pneumatic builds that were cluttering the workshop. The political climate here makes builds, whether pneumatic or hybrid pretty much impossible. For those Stateside, imagine all your...

Hi fellow machinists. I am adding a 4th axis to my CNC mill and need some advice on sourcing parts. I have the motor, gearbox etc, what I need is a 80-100mm self centring chuck that is mounted on a straight shatf, not MT arbour, so I can fit it to the gearbox. I also need a tailstock to suit. New firing plan Press button on Arduino, digital pin 1 goes LOW LOW state on pin 1 enables HIGH state on pin 2 Relay on pin 2 closes and solenoid trips P-A now enabled, chamber fills Ignore pin 1 thereafter, only needed to prime system Look for pulse on pin 3, that means FIRE bu...

P-A under pressure from the compressor, the manual switch makes a nice click and works. R-A which is what we want, manual does nothing, you have to use the volts on coil...

Airline into NO port Chamber fills Trip soleno...

More like my favorite airframe ever the undeniably beautiful A-10 How can you argue with an aircraft that "The A-10 was designed around the GAU-8 Avenger, a rotary cannon that is the airplane's primary armament and the heaviest such cannon mounted on an aircraft. " The sole purpose of the airframe w...
