thanks for the help its really appreciated, from what i understand, ill build a piston with o rings fitted, and make my pilot volume relatively small compared to my chamber volume. also, are you saying hotglue pistons should be used for low pressures, and should use epoxy pistons for higher psi s? I...

if i made a piston with hot glue poured into a 3" length of 1" pipe with dw40 on the side, then dried, pushed it out, is that a good piston for this scenario? When you say the pilot volume should be less of the chamber's, do you mean before the pilot is open? or when i open the valve, the loss of ai...

ohkay.... i kinda understand Yeah 1" by 1" is (Pi x r square x length) So lets say im building a coaxial piston gun where the chamber is a 1" pipe and barrel is 1/2" pipe, the barrel in the 3' chamber is 2' and 8" The piston is 3 inches and has 1/2 a mm equalizer spacing around. So there is a 1" by ...

alright so would a blowgun pilot 1"squared of air volume?
1" of 1 inch pipe is 1" squared right?

i see, so lets say the pilot volume is in a 1" pipe, what valve would pilot that, non sprinkler? does the length of volume matter, Ex. 1"*x Will the x of the equation effect pilot?[/i]

Pilot valve help for piston guns

I was just wondering about pilot valves and how much air can they pilot for there size. Im calling on anyones great expertise to explain the required valve size for a particular amount of chamber volume. Does the amount of psi effect the valve size?

all this is help full but again limited thanks everyone. I dont even know what a drill press is. The bolt and washer: what are the parts to it? where can i get rubber discs? Are there already perfect sizes of washers for my purpose? I could try epoxy... my idea from this info: Take a length of pipe ...

I heard of pistons made from threaded rods or bolts do you know anything of that?

Piston Help

Im sorry i cant seem to find how to make a piston for a coaxial piston valve cannon anywhere. I want to build a piston that is air tight on copper pipes and for a 3/4" sized chamber. Can anyone tell me how to make one and keeping in mind i am restricted of resources. Any help is appreciated.

ok i mean a reducer pipe from copper pipes. You can, if im seeing this rite, convert after your "t" everting encased in a copper pipe with a filling like glue or rolled up tape, then when it comes to your chamber find a reducer that fits your chamber to your barrel, the reducer has no treads. The "i...

I have a noob question, how do i make a piston for a 3/4 chamber to cover a 1/2 opening, fyi im doing the same project. Also couldn't you have used a reducer pipe and sand off the indents so the barrel fits all the way through the reducer into the chamber.

Its like this topic discussion had died... after reading everything is still question: How does the valve(part 4 of the mag diagram) after being pushed, release compressed co2 from its chamber to the part that pushes the bb? BTW im sort of inexperienced when it comes to complex valves and circuit de...
