Re: Yet another topic begging for help: Metered propane edit
Thank you for the advice. During the time between me posting my initial query and now the cannon actually did fire on accident one time when I was working on the ignition system. Thankfully nothing was in the barrel except for paper towels and I am not dumb enough to look down the barrel. This led m...

Yet another topic begging for help: Metered propane edition
Several weeks ago I set out to build my first metered propane cannon and up until actually trying to fire it things were going well. Every system works: the meter pipe holds pressure and seems to vent into the chamber, the fan turns on, the igniter (made from a stun gun) can be clearly heard arcing,...

I am done wrestling with this thing and i need something that will work. what kind of valve could i make or buy that wo...

Re: Cannon troubleshooting and questions
I wrapped the tennis ball with electrical tape and if fits snugly now so that is not an issue. as for the problem areas on the valve i have some pictures, but they are terrible. I seem to have always been cursed with pressure leaks no matter what I try to fix them with. Im thinking about just runnin...

Re: Cannon troubleshooting and questions
Thank you guys very much for your help with this problem. I took your advice with the valve and switched it out for a modified sprinkler valve and waited for a warmer day. I took it out and shot it when it was sixty degrees Fahrenheit outside and i noticed minimal difference. my other problem is no ...

Re: Cannon troubleshooting and questions
just using a ball valve to vent the chamber, nothing fancy. I have one picture, but its terrible. Also I am using an entire cartridge per shot so the is not an issue with it running low on co2. Thank you very much for your help

Cannon troubleshooting and questions
Hello again spud files I have a bit of a challenge for you. I built a beauty of a mortar this week in an attempt to build something to give my team an edge in airsoft games, it is powered by 12 gram co2 cartridges and a convergent-divergent nozzle to boost power. I went out to fire it today and sadl...

Re: BBMG external air rig help
An HPA setup will need a low pressure regulator, so expect to pay around $150 for bottle, reg and fittings. As cammyd32 pointed out, prolonged fire with CO2 can cause the line to freeze up, so some sort of expansion chamber prior to the trigger valve would be a good idea. Thank you for the good inf...

qev question
Hello spudfiles i just have a quick question about a valve that I bought. My understanding of qevs is that they have a small spring inside them to push the piston back into place after the air reservoir has been released. so it came as a surprise when i could not find a spring in the valve and could...

After you suggested a sub caliber dart i thought of a simple nail dart i made for one of my air cannons. It was just a nail with a paper cone wrapped around the head that fit the inside diameter of the launcher. perhaps a non lethal version of that would work as well? Thanks for all of the help with...
