Diaphragm valves often have less power than piston valves. While the opening speed is superior due to the low weight of the diaphragm, the flow is restricted.

I'm pretty sure "furniture grade" is thinwall and not pressure rated. I've seen PVC furniture before, and I don't think I would trust the fittings with pressure.
