How much velocity do you need to comfortably reach 300 meters range with a cannon?
I want to build a pneumatic cannon and I have some cool ideas but I don't have much experience with them. I want to know how much pressure/air volume you need to achieve a 300 meters range comfortably (so no shooting at a 30-45 degree angle). I would also appreciate some tips on making the cannon ac...

Re: Can you make a pneumatic cannon shoot snowballs?
Yeah I thought about this too but it would have much more friction and sharp corners would make it unstable in flight. It possibly could even desintegrate in air. Friction for any reasonable projectile is negligible in the "does this thing even work" sense. As for unstable flight, you're going to h...

A snow BALL might be difficult. But a snow cylinder would have the same effect and would be easy to put your foam pusher plate behind. Yeah I thought about this too but it would have much more friction and sharp corners would make it unstable in flight. It possibly could even desintegrate in air.

Re: Can you make a pneumatic cannon shoot snowballs?
yeah I saw that video but the pressure he has in this thing is much lower than the pressure in the cannon I'm planning to build

Can you make a pneumatic cannon shoot snowballs?
Winter is getting closer and closer and so does my fauvorite part of it - snowball fights. And I kinda want to spice these fights up. And I think tahat the best way to do it is to introduce a lil bit of scrambling or ib other words - artillery. I want to make a pneumatic cannon shoot snowballs so I ...

Can you make a pneumatic cannon shoot snowballs?
Winter is closer and closer so I want to spice up the classic snowball fights with a lil bit of scrambling. I've decided that a snowball artillery barrage from several dozen meters would be a fun thing (even on the receiving end of the barrel) but i don't know how to make the snowballs survive the a...

How do you get consistent performance out of a "cheap" cannon?
I have a quickly made spud cannon and I'm trying to get it to have similar performance every shot. It boils down to 2 mayor issues: -getting the fuel/air mixture to combust not burn, -measuring the amount of propellant injected. I also have the problem with propellant escaping before I manage to clo...
