Re: How to achieve ultra-high power: piston-supercharged propane gun?
This is actually another form of compression ignition, except that the power of the spring or crankshaft is replaced by the pressure of the explosion of the mixture. I think the biggest advantage of my design is that it avoids the premature ignition of propane by the traditional compression ignition...

Re: How to achieve ultra-high power: piston-supercharged propane gun?
Let's simulate it. The volume of a is 100cc, the volume of b is also 100cc, and the volume of c is only 10cc. When a explodes, the piston of b moves to the position of c, which is equivalent to compressing it 10 times. The interior of b is originally filled with 1MPa compressed air, which is equival...

How to achieve ultra-high power: piston-supercharged propane gun?
This method will challenge the liquefaction limit of propane, exceeding the compression of 20 MPa, and may even reach the energy density of gunpowder. I have been thinking about it for several days and finally believe that this is achievable. Next, I will briefly describe my idea: There are three ch...

Re: Hybrid disk burst pressure effect on performance
Use a check valve instead of a baffle to stop the high pressure flow from the secondary combustion chamber back to the primary, and see what happens to the performance

Will it still work when the fuel starts to liquefy?
I couldn't get propane and had to use butane instead, but butane seems to have a much lower liquefaction pressure than propane, when I add pressure it will be liquefied, can butane still be ignited at this point?

How to replace bursting discs
I'm considering semi-automatic supercharged combustion, but I can't replace the bursting disc quickly. Is there any solution?

Re: Failure to break through 10mm steel plate
What is the formula? Can they exceed the accuracy of hgdt?Stabilizing Finn wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 11:03 amThis is just a guess but I would say roughly 1100J of energy at muzzle. Few years ago I experimented quite a bit with high mix hybrids and figured out some formulas that can be used to estimate muzzle energy.

Re: Failure to break through 10mm steel plate
picture thread for reference , that is extremely impressive, congratulations! Can it be compared with the 7.62×39mm intermediate rifle bullet? I know that the bullet fired by ak47 can pierce a 10mm steel plate, but the cross-sectional area of the bullet is different, which will affect the penetrati...

Re: Failure to break through 10mm steel plate
About the only way you're really going to get an idea of muzzle energy is to run it through a chronograph, or if you don't have access to one, shoot into a ballistic pendulum. The latter is very easy to set up; with a mobile phone as camera ad some calculations you can get some very accurate result...
