@frankrede http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/3663/at4cutawaygg7.jpg That was the cannon in its preassembled form. I had a pneumatic actuated cannon of the same design but it was too much trouble to put in a tube, so the electric went in instead. @PVC Arsenal 17 So Krylon does make a Fusion OD green...

yeah, Krylon Fusion didn't have an OD Green so it was hunter green for now. I'm going to use that as a primer and then put on OD Green later. Lol. Now to make the stickers.

poor man's AT-4/CS

http://img350.imageshack.us/img350/8157/at4csdarmamentsdc5.jpg Okay it wasn't really cheap ... a few hundred dollars in tools, parts, and effort went into building this approximation of the AT4. I think it looks cute. Orbit Watermaster 1" Sch40 chamber and barrel with 1.5" pipes Electric Solenoid a...

Take a picture. The QC on the watermaster hasn't been good lately. 5 out of 7 I bought had problems with the hardwhite portion holding the neoprene sealing face. Used a box cutter to clean it up so it made a good seal. 2 of those were too messy to salvage so they went straight back to the store. The...

What's the stamp on your Orbit Watermaster? The last few I got from Home Depot had poorly cleaned parts on the seal face. These were six digit 5xxxxx stamps. I've had valves from 3 different states (south, midwest) and they were the same. The trick was to open the valve and clean out the burrs with ...

Where did you get the valve (as in store)? Looks interesting, wish we could see pictures.

Previous thread on shrapnel shielding material. Look for the link by clide. According to this, nothing short of a metal shield will stop exploding shrapnel. I intend to replace my chambers with aluminum when it becomes convenient. http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3599& http://www.netw...

Silly me, I forgot to put back the spring! It was causing the valve to fire inconsistently, sometimes very strong sometimes weak. Its a very noticable difference now.

Not sure about the flow. The catalog didn't have any specs. Good suggestion with the ball valve. My rig has one as a safety, if the push button valve is removed that would vent directly to atmosphere with 1/4" instead of 1/8". But aren't most blowguns 1/8" anyway?

http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/306/prototype2valvede3.jpg I followed the instructions from the video except for replacing the solenoid. And instead of the usual blowgun, a 3 way pushbutton control valve (from McMasters) with a 1/8" NPT connect was used. One thing I noticed, there is nearly a se...

You mentioned that the fittings were soldered? You mean I can use rosin core lead to attach fittings with the same equipment used for electronics? Asking because I've not worked with metal before. I've got a spare aluminum fire extinguisher that looks ripe for modification.

Sprinkler Valve Watch

Some personal expereince with solenoid valves ... Orbit Watermaster 1" Model 57461 (Jar-Top) = this valve is poor for air cannons because the valve itself leaks. Air tends to exit the valve immediately as soon as it is pumped. Quick pumping allows you to eventually seal the diaphragm but it will los...

Orbit Watermaster Jartop 574461 vs Rainbird CP-100

I've had 2 out of 4 defective 57101 (the 1" with a lever) and the shops I buy from are all out of those. But they had plenty of Jartop 1" (574461) and 1" CP-100 as alternatives. The Jartop seems a bit more difficult to use with this bleed valve but "appears" to me like it may be easier to mod since ...

Orbit's QC must be slipping. This valve was the best looking one out of six on the shelf. All the others had excess plastic on the thread piece or the external parts. :(
