hydrostatic versus pneumatic burst pressures

we in Australia generally have a few ranges of pressure pipe PN12,18,22 12bar, 18bar, 22bar 174PSI, 261PSI, 319PSI i have a spudgun made from PN18 pipe Someone said that the burst pressure is 3 times the rated pressure but i presume this is hydrostatic pressure (water rating) What would be the burst...

sorry should have said does modifying the spring but stretching or making the spring smaller make any difference.

what kind of pressure is on the "low" side of a sp

if i crank my gun to say 100psi what kind of pressure will be on the holding "low" side of the sprinkler diaphram.

also does stretching /cuting ring (smaller) make any difference to the end release time/holding prerssure?

Cheers,

i bought a 50mm x 1 mtr lenght ($22) a bit pricey....

end cap was only $2.50

24 hours from now i should have a nice grunty air gun at 125 psi !!

safety question (call me paranoid but.....)

I have a air gun using PN12 rated pvc pipe (173 PSI) air chamber is 1 meter by 50mm diam pvc, orbit sprinkler valve Muzzle is 30m by 90cm So the question is will the PN12 (173PSI) rated pressure pipe be safe at 125psi (my max pressure) Secondly there must be a way to protect the chamber from a possi...

hhhmmm so your saying it`s safer to pump them load projectile? I would have felt safer not sticking a projectile down thebarrel with a chamber fully of air? thats the "nasty" end and i would not fancy placing the spud or whatever in barrel if there is a chance if could go off. prefer to load and hav...

can a sprinkler valve release on it`s own ?

just wondering if the 24vac sprinkler valves could release by themselves ie: due to some sort of internal air leak, mechanical failure? Or pressures getting to close to the working pressures of the sprink When we load, then pump up the chamber and then point and shoot. I would hate for the valve to ...

air pressure versus muzzle speed linear or NON linear?

Any body know if the increase in pressure versus muzzle speed is NON linear??

One if the engineers who play around with hydraulics said that there is a very non linear curve of air compression pressure versus muzzle speed

Presume to do with how air compresses

Any ideas?

Bunning’s did it for me! use the grey colored orbit sprinkler valves works great! $24.95 the other cheaper one i bought was crap (horn effect) $22.95 don’t use them 12 bar pressure pipe a bit pricey at $12 a meter but hey hobbies cost money....... tried a spud at 60 psi 2 inch barrel but only 500mm ...
