but then wouldn't that shorten the chamber and weaken the power of my gun

Okay, well here is a different safety issue I need help with. URL=http://imageshack.us] http://img452.imageshack.us/img452/9630/img1626fx2.jpg [/URL] See the line? It kinda looks like a crack? The picture is kinda blurry, but in real life the line is very distinct. However, when I run my fingernail ...

Safety issues... help?
I heard that if it's cold out, it's not safe to fire the potato cannon? Is this true? How cold?
It's like 30 degrees out, do you guys think it would be okay to shoot it?
And how many shots will I be able to fire before the potato cannon gets too worn out?

It really isn't all that hard to make something like this look really nice and work well. Theres a reason I spent the 1 dollar on the pipe and fitting for my handle along with the 10 total minutes of work. It's because it looks and functions great. Why risk having hot air shoot at you when you can ...

Do you have a picture? sure http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/8219/img1624gb1.th.jpg It spark box is sort of just dangling inside of the combustion chamber. I guess ...

Ah caulk, good idea. thanks! Attach the wires to screws which will thread into the chamber, forming a seal and a spark gap that will be unaffected by combustion pressure, unlike one that is formed using wires. Currently I still have that "spark box" still in the combustion chamber. Couldn't I just l...

You can't mount the igniter on the gun. It would fly out at very high speeds. You don't even have to mount it you can just have it dangling and just press the button. You don't need that metal box it is used specifically for grills. Just cut the wire and strip off the plastic on the outside. all ri...

Mounting the Ignition System
Hey, I'm building my first Potato Cannon. I cut the PVC pipes to the correct lengths and and cemented some of the pieces together. However, I'm stuck on mounting the Ignition System. I've seen a couple of configurations, but I'm not sure which to use. I would prefer having the actual "red button par...
