another important point!! -when buying raw PVC for your cannon, make sure you get real polyvinyl chloride pipe. the stuff you need to watch out for is the celluloid core stuff. It is basically bonded foam. Great for water, but not great for high pressure combustion gasses. One of these things explod...

hmm an interesting problem it does depend on the caliber if i were in your condition, i would custom machine a nice new receiver out of solid aluminum billet but, most people do not have a nice metal machine shop...... depending on the ideal operating pressure, you may consider using a paintball reg...

hmm
good idea
i understand the concept of gas venting, as i have studied most every aspect of .50 caliber sniper rifles in my various hours of pointless free time
i think i will try that actually

if nothing else, it will still look pretty sick

hmm
ive been working on a kit to let my pimped out paintball gun shoot airsoft BBs
im still in the design process, but if it worked out it would be a very interesting configuration
you could probably get 400+ FPS and 20 shots per second.

DO muzzle brakes actually do anything??

recently i built a medium sized combustion cannon, and for fun i put on a muzzle brake. it was .25" larger in diameter than the barrel, and had two 1" diameter porting holes. i honestly do not think it did much, but when i fired at night it made two jets of flame come out. it looked like a hand held...

try ventilation blow out the entire chamber, and put in like a 2 second shot of old spice deoderant. on my first cannon, i originally used way too much of the stuff. you need less than you would think!! also, make sure to keep the tips of the electrodes clean. NEVER USE HAIRSPRAY i know its a ghetto...

i think it might be possible to build something out of old sander parts for the drive. Maybe use the second idea would work, if timed properly. The real challenge would be timing the feed/rotation wheels. another idea i has to get PVC sheet, use a hot piece of iron to make grooves, then wrap it arou...

hmm i was at my machine shop yesterday making random robot parts on my lathe and i think it would be very hard to do. my .22 hornet has i turn per 20", so 200 RPM would be high. I did figure out that i could rifle small aluminum bits, but its difficult and takes forever. I might make a custom airsof...

thanks!! i think that maybe if you got the dog stake down thingy hi mentioned and milled nice points onto the front you could use it. i think that if i heat it up then engage the autofeed on my lathe at like 1 foot per 10 secs then spin the bit at around 200 RPM that might work idk if Joel does it w...

personally i would have a spring push a 12 gram co2 cartridge onto a hollow needle. On impact, it would somehow release the co2 and blast the contents of the grenade out. How you would do it all, i am unsure of

i have made plans for some sort of concussion activated grenade filled with pyrodex or something. Only problem with that would be that it might kill someone if it landed near them in a paintball/airsoft game. one idea i had a while back would be a rocket that would fire up then release a cloud of pa...
