Holy Crap. Turns out the pipe was for liquid hydrolics. But the pump pumps a ton of air-- Will pump about 5000 psi - air and the fittings I got are great. I hooked this thing up to my oxygen bottle pneumatic and pumped it up to 600 psi. All of the fittings on that thing are rated for a lot of pressu...

I'm gettin some free stuff
My cousin's step dad works at a factory that uses high pressure steam to run some machines. They are doing some demo work and reconstruction at the place where he works. He is bringing some hardware for me to make a pheumatic. He is bringing me a a piece of pipe and fittings rated to 15,000 psi for ...

I did the same thing with scba tanks that firefighters use...I wasnt satisfied with the small tank outlet threads so I had them drilled and tapped to 1"NPT....They are even larger than your oxygen tank but lighter since they are fibre wrapped aluminum......They work very nicely but I would definite...

You need to think much bigger. I used size "e" medical oxygen tank which is about 4" diameter and about 26" long. Mine is very, very simple and VERY cheap. Tank cost was only 10 bucks (ebay is your fiend). This thing is a beast that weights in at about 20 pounds all up which actually works well when...

Will it really reach mach 2? What I'm getting at is will the helium be able to expand fast enough to reach like 460m/s? A golf ball will have alot of drag so it will be even harder. But none the less it will be very cool. i hope you make it lol. If you are concerned about the chamber, why not use a...

I constructed one recently and posted pictures on this forum. I made mine without spending much money. Here is my parts list: Size "E" medical oxygen tank on Ebay = $12 (I got a great deal on shipping) 1" brass ball valve = $13 Metal schraeder valve = $4 Steel pipe fittings = about 10 bucks 1.5" X 1...

Metal Pipe
It has been suggested that I make a piston valve for my new pneumatic spud gun. (I posted pictures of it last week). I want to make the piston valve from steel pipe. Most of the examples I have seen here use PVC fittings to make the valve housing. Has anybody made one out of steel pipe and would you...

You guys have given me a bunch of new ideas about how to take this thing to the next level. Thanks. I downloaded the GGDT. Pretty cool. I'm not clear though how to account for the deduced fitting beween my air chamber and the valve. The bottle necks down to .5" and it opens back up to the 1" ball va...

Welcome. Please refrain from insulting our members in your first few posts. Unless he said something really bad that was uncalled for we don't need to hear it. Nice cannon, I've moved it for you. You should get a better valve, you have a PVC barrel with a DWV fitting on it, I doubt it will hold ext...

Thanks. My pictures didn't post at first--they were too big so I had to resize them so I think that is what mislead DYI. I though of a shock pump but it would take too long to pump up. I think a shock pump is high pressure and relatively low volume. There are plans here on the forum to make a high p...

I have great concern with pneumatic PVC cannons and safety of chamber under pressure. Failure would be catastrophic and failure is unpredictable. Chamber on the pneumatic cannon is a size E medical oxygen cylinder rated for operational pressure of 2,200 PSI and I operate at about 5% max rated operat...
