Re: Hybrid disk burst pressure effect on performance
If my gut is right, making the baffle shorter (increasing volume of the chamber that has the spark gap in it), will decrease performance (decrease the step function effect). According to the study that inspired hectmarr's other thread, peak pressure should increase, but for a smaller effective volu...

Hybrid handgun with rupture disc
I had this project in mind for quite some time, and I have finally finished it. This is this .22 caliber pistol that fires common pellets, associated with a rupture disc. The advantage is that the weapon can be supplied in the same way as a common, commercial compressed air gun. It has an inverted l...

Re: Single pumping hybrid, "Strong Boy"
The video I owe around here, of the single pump pistol. In this case, they shoot 1/4" steel bb^s. I have currently switched ammo to 0.23 gram airsoft pellets ; It has about 3.5X and the performance is very good. https://youtu.be/QsRumkMX9NQ?si=n4GxjqizYdjECYNE The operation of the gun in the video i...

3” Sprinkler Valve Tennis Ball Cannon
I made a tennis ball cannon using a 3” sprinkler valve. It fires a ball at ~150 yards at just 30 PSI. The valve is manufactured by Dorot, repackaged by Galcon, and sold by Drip Depot. The stated flow rate is 390 gallons/minute which is 10x the flow rate of an average 1” sprinkler valve. The valve is...

Over shoulder potato cannon
Hey all, I am building a combustion potato cannon for a school project, a 1.5 inch ABS pipe based cannon (yes I know, pretty risky seeing how people see dmw ABS with its pros and cons here, also because I made the mistake of not researching beforehand), posting about it to get feedback and criticism...

Re: "In the world of spuds today"
ITWOST: Got some new camera gear and figured I'd take a closer look at one of the "good" piston valves I've made recently. https://youtu.be/SVZjXHcsJnk There's a lot more work on the completed project because I want to do silly sh*t, but another small anecdote: you ever head of FOGBANK ? It's some s...

Voici l'image:

That looks fantastic, I like how you've incorporated 3D printed elements and impressive muzzle energy too, it must be very loud!
Interested to see the projectile, is the barrel a smoothbore?

Re: "In the world of spuds today"
Update on the current project and a little sneak peek: still lots to do (polishing valve seat, rebuilding piston to track more cocentric, some funny stuff with the barrel, a way to aim more better), but I managed to put a hole in my box spring with some supposedly "low power" testing and a plastic 1...

hw97karbine YouTube channel terminated
Unfortunately due to overzealous moderation of historical footage, my YouTube channel has been terminated and the content is no longer accessible. All the video footage I have shared on this forum since 2007 was uploaded there and the links are now all dead. I have however recovered most of the cont...
