Re: New member... my baby, Big Red
I have not had any problems shooting with additional oxygen. I have completed calibration using propane and mapp, but have not had enough shooting time to test with oxygen. With plain fuel air mix I have achieved about 700 joules muzzle energy (only a 5' bsrrel, so chamber/barrel ratio is high), but...

New member... my baby, Big Red
https://youtu.be/JKb0yTjrQd0 "Bolt-action" sniper with metered injection, mixing/exhaust fan, "12 round" mag. Thoughts? The barrel is what slides rather than a bolt, and when the breach is open, the checkvalve opens at the butt to allow 5 second exhausting of the chamber before reloading. In the vid...

Re: Propane failing to ignite reliably.
I have to agree, using oxygen is a dangerous additive. If you are adding more than smidge, you're in danger if you finally get the mixture right and it ignites properly. Propane will only ignite between 2.5% and 9.2% by volume with air at sea level, so you may well be under fueling it. Get it all so...

Re: New member... my baby, Big Red
My apologies, I was being a little facetious, I would never consider detonating such a fuel/oxidizer mix. I thought the "miniature vacuum pump" was my obvious tell... I'll be sticking to a high nitrogen content with this device thank you very much. ;) And I'll cancel the snark until you get to know ...

Re: Using Burnt Latke's fuel tool
I think I came to the same conclusion about 10 years ago... I assume you found this... it gives a good clue, but I still wasn't sure... I think he means volume of the propane (meter) is 4% and the volume of the air (chamber) is 100% The pressure regulator proved to be the key element. A mid range ba...

Re: Using Burnt Latke's fuel tool
Correct, meter pipe volume needs to be approximate, with the fine tuning of moles of propane to moles of oxygen being done by adjusting pressure in the pipe. If you find that you can't get the right load, you can change the length of a nipple on the pipe to add/remove 1/2"+, much as Latke said here....

Re: I got some questions.
Since posting i believe i have figured out my issues. I noticed that if I leave the gun sit for roughly a minute before firing it goes off reliably. I increased the chamber volume aswell. I am in the process of creating a "venturi" fuel mixing system to mix the gasses as the chamber is filled. With...
