I'm back!

Hey guys, its been a very long time. I previously used the name "*###*" I lost access to my account and it seems I'm sol as far as recovery is concerned. I have built many more great toys over the years and I felt like getting back into the community to share my knowledge as well as to learn and bec...

Re: I'm back!

I usually shoot at 2000 psi. The pilot volume is almost non existent, so it opens with a sharp bang. I am currently figuring out how to go about attaching the sights. But honestly its fairly easy to aim as is. Although it would be cool to see the performance at 50-100 yards. I'd put this thing up ag...

Re: I'm back!

I'm shooting 360 grain slugs at the moment. At 1800 psi it shoots clean through 2" plywood. No hesitation at all. At 3000 I feel like it could drop a grizzly bear. A chronograph is pretty high up on my list but currently I dont have any actual number for performance.

I got some questions.

So I've put something together, its a hybrid clone of my phenumatic rifle. Right now they share a barrel but it will get its own dedicated when complete. For the time being I have had a few successful test shots at 10x using the chart from the forum. They are hard to repeat. But I have had some succ...

Re: I got some questions.

Since posting i believe i have figured out my issues. I noticed that if I leave the gun sit for roughly a minute before firing it goes off reliably. I increased the chamber volume aswell.

I am in the process of creating a "venturi" fuel mixing system to mix the gasses as the chamber is filled.

Re: I'm back!

So a little update, I did a little shooting. At 1000psi I got 586 fps. Roughly 275ft/lbs. At 3000 I launched the chronograph across my drive way and I to several pieces... so not real performance data. How ever in the never ending quest of moar-power I have assembled a hybrid out of nearly identical...

Re: I'm back!

Unfortunately I did not. I know you guys want videos! I am here in Colorado and we have snow at the moment... we should have some nice weather coming up. Maybe this weekend... I have switched over to my hybrid though. As far as I am concerned this thing is complete, a smashing success. I even replac...

Re: My first working pengun- ammo questions...

If you find some with the right size head, you dont need to remove it and it will apply some drag stability. I like the nails for hanging pictures.

Re: My first working pengun- ammo questions...

I have made a few pen guns, always thought shooting small nails was fun. Or "skewers" work as well.

Re: I got some questions.

So you guys were on the money. I was lean for sure. I think higher mixes helps aswell. I have been successful up to 30x with roughly 20psi propane 420psi air. Now it seems to be on par with the phenumatic counterpart. I do intend on mounting it on a stock or something of the sort. Like a bulpup conf...

Re: I'm back!

The "t" fitting that I use is a "street t" so it has one set of male pipe thread. The front of the piston sits inside the male threaded portion of the fitting. The back of the t has a 3/4-1" male to male reducer. The back of the piston sits in the 1" portion of the reducer. With out the reducer the ...

Re: I'm back!

Also it is a barrel sealing piston. The "face" sits inside the barrel instead of pressing up against it. The rear oring is a "floating oring" so air passes one way to fill the chamber. It cannot flow in reverse.

Re: stainless steel tube burst pressure

I dont know if you can make it out properly but this is a picture I have on hand.

The pipe is stainless, I am not sure what alloy...

Works fine for me. I have been up to 3500 so far. I did not do a hydrostatic test.
