Where to get standard BSP threads in US?
Tried mcmaster, they don't have just plain old BSP threads unless I'm an idiot, they have BSPT, BSPP but not BSP.

Well they are tapered, just like NPT.

So what is a normal BSP? as in, what would this valve be?Two types of threads are distinguished:
Parallel ('straight') threads, British Standard Pipe Parallel thread (BSPP; originally also known as[1] British Standard Pipe Fitting thread/BSPF and British Standard Pipe Mechanical thread/BSPM), which have a constant diameter; denoted by the letter G.
Taper threads, British Standard Pipe Taper thread (BSPT), whose diameter increases or decreases along the length of the thread; denoted by the letter R.

I'm pretty sure threads for gas seals are most commonly tapered because of the way they seal. Someone else can chime in though because I've never even touched a BSP fitting.

The ones on the QEV are not tapered.
This is what you're looking for if you need an adapter: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-fitting-stai ... 2eafa13c16
... kinda removes the advantage of the cheap valve though if you need to buy expensive fittings to use it.

I thought you might appreciate that I must admit you have gotten me using words like bollocks alot in real life, confusing many of the people I hang out with hahaCunning use of a quintessentially British expletive when talking about their threads
all thanks to you, be proud.

Just to further confuse things, a male BSP taper will seal well with a female parallel thread, but a male parallel thread will not work well with a female taper. Generally speaking taper threads are used more for plumbing, and parallel threads, which require an o-ring or washer for sealing, for pneumatics/hydraulics.
the annoying thing about parallel fittings is they will only seal at a certain orientation, I sometimes get around this by ignoring the sealing ring and whacking some epoxy in instead.
