Fun Ammunition
yeah, today i had some fun with my tenis ball cannon again. and i decided to try the ol' penny filled tenis ball. if your cannon is strong enough try it. i used mine and it blew a hole clean through two 1" floor boards. makes for some nice damage pics. basically, what is the coolest thing any of you have launched?
actually mine was about 70 cents worth. but heck look at it this way, you have a tenis ball that bounces away, or with an additional dollar worth of pennies you have a wrecking ball that can break trees.

your barrel is 2.5 " SCH 40 correct? i plan on building one soon but the ball needs to really be shoved in there when i looked at a barrel to check.
Cool ammo: a ball of the metal used for a sodder big enough to weigh some, but wrapped in duct tape for the specifications of the barrel.

Heh heh... My tennis ball cannons rarin' to go with a shiny new MAPP cylinder installed and a new regulator.
Just gotta find all the spare change.
Maybe I'll just fill it with BB's or lead shot.

my coolest ammo is a 5.5 pound metal slug. 8 pounds of pumpkin chunks, 5 potatoes, and three apples at the same time, and a combustion cannon. looks like I wont be shooting anything for the next couple of weeks, though.

Another idea would be to get a big box of strike anywhere matches and cut off a ton of the heads so it is just the head of the match. Then fill a tennis ball with them and jam as many of them in as you can, then duct tape it shut. When you throw it at the ground the friction supposedly lits all the match heads and it sorta explodes. I never tried this but I heard it works. That would be pretty cool to shoot at a wall or something.

Is the match head theory legal?

That's dangerous, cause the "bomb" could go of in your barrel, due to the sudden G-force and pressure when shot. Don't try this. It's stupid to do.MisterSteve124 wrote:Another idea would be to get a big box of strike anywhere matches and cut off a ton of the heads so it is just the head of the match. I have found that empty silicon caulking tubes are fun. Although my cannon really sucks right now. But they fit perfect into 2 inch pipe. And if there where a way to weight them down you could get some awesome results out of a high power cannon. You could use one that is like half full but thats really a waste

Spudstuff, there are times when it's nice that they don't edit their posts... like this time, when it made removing the offending (rule-breaking) material easier.
