Hey, I am just wondering what caps for bottles will fit down a 1.5" sch40 barrel in a pneumatic ( i would also like a way to be able to fire the sabot but not lose it)

A sanded down 1' endcap works with a relatively tight seal

A 3L bottle cap may work

3L Bottle cap, never heard of that before(not sarcasm) 8)

They (as in the bottling companies like Coca-Cola) have 3L bottles with a wide mouth. Those caps are very big.

Or a 1L bottle cap from a Pepsi product. It is a wide mouth bottle and is usually the same size as a 3L.

Just go to the clerck and ask for, "a literacola."

Hubb would a 1L bottle cap really fit in a 1.5" cause i dont see that happening

There's no bottle cap I know of that that HAS A 1.5" DIAMETER.

If you can't find it in your area, it isnt very common and probaly not worth looking for. FIND SOMETHING ELSE!

Here in Canada there is definatly nothing that big.

Pepsi makes them that are wide like Los Frijoles spoke of. The normal sized ones will not work but the wide ones might.

Yoplait and other yogurt smoothies are the PERFECT size for 1.5 inch sch 40 pvc. I used them as sabots for my ghetto combustion. It was a tight fit, and that also could have been because I sanded down the barrel inside to make a potato blade. And that was a breach loading gun.

However, I was able to jam it further with a screwdriver. Experiment!

you could use caulking tubes.

I'm not too sure about milk carton lids like these are going to be airtight. They generally have ripples (or whatever they're called) all around its edge to assist in its removal from the carton.

With that said, I wouldn't think you would notice a difference either way. The air is going to push it out.

Couldn't you sand the ripples and use trusty ductape to fill th rest?

JK. I guess it could be sanded down and wrapped with tape but why? If it fits in the barrel comfortably, it will serve the purpose you seek, whether it is airtight or not.
