Here's the rebar steel "dart" I shot it at the microwave in this topic:

I simply drilled a hole in a golfball the size of my rebar and stick the rebar in.
It's best to shoot from up close so it don't go sideways, but when it goes in your target the golfball slips off and you can reuse it again.

It kicks pretty good and even better if you sharpen and harden the tips. :D
I just need to find some metal to weld on for fins and I'll be set.

You gave me an idea what to do with my golfball gun!I got a heap of this rebar from a construction site bin I raided.These things look like they would have some penetrating power!

rebar fits very well in 1/2 inch pvc but my cannon isn't strong enough to launch the rebar but a high powered copper one would probably work well.

at my local hardware store, they sell for 7 dollars per 5 foot section (being 1/2" in diameter) soo about $1.40 per foot 8)
