So i found a wooden bat in a corner of my garage and thought - "wow, that looks like it's 2 inches". I wasn't off by much, i shaved it down a little with a hand sander and it fit in the barrel like it was ment to be. Shot a good size hole through a sheet of ply from 20 or so feet away, would have kept going if not for the brick wall behind it.

Maybe i should add some fins and stabalize it?

What do you guys think?

how big is ur cannon?? and i think u would need rather large fins to stabalize a whole bat but i think if u could get fins on it they would help except they would prolly rip off when going through targets

My barrel is 2". I was thinking of cutting sheetmetal fins and sticking them through the bat.

u would need a bigger barrel then so that the bat fits in with the protruding fins

A bat isn't a simple cylinder, walrus... there is no need to get a wider barrel, he just will put the fins on the handle.
...a suggestion for steam roller, though: if you do put fins on it, cut off the pommel (the knob at the end of the handle). It's making the projectile less aerodynamic.
