I would love it if i could get some ammo ideas for a 1.5 in barrel and a 1 in barrel.

You could also use the search feature More ideas than you can shake a length of PVC pipe at.

Whatever fits in the barrel is my usual philosophy

For the 1 inch, my favorite ammo is marshmallows and gumballs. Since energy = Mass times Velocity squared, a marshmallow in a fast cannon can impart considerable damage. I manage to put holes in empty soda cans, burst full ones and even dented an old car door with just marshmallows.

As far as gumballs, the ballistics is fantastic when going for distance. Since they are light, they pack quite a punch on 1/2-5/8ths inch plywood. It was a suprise to me the first time I decided to see how deep a dent a gumball would make on a sheet of plywood and it went right through it. I'll have to post photos later.

This is the logic behind High Velocity Armour Piercing anti-tank rounds, however the disadvantage of using full calibre light weight ammunition is that it has very poor sectional density which means that it loses velocity and therefore energy very quickly after leaving the muzzle.

This is very true and an advantage for surburban cannons. By the time the marshmallow has made it a block away, it's pretty low energy. In reality, 600 FPS marshmallows only travel about 300 feet. I can find them down the street when doing distance testing. My youtube video of shooting one over the house into the tree along my back fence shows this rapid loss of speed.

Gumballs are heavier and being a better aerodynamic shape go much farther.

if you or your friends drink 5 hour energy or any other energy shot type thing, most of them fit quite well in 1.25-1.5 pvc. if you get a short (1-2") piece of pvc the same diameter as your barrel, fill it with water, heat it slightly so it falls out, that makes one mean slug. using a wadding helps alot on small diameter ammo, and of course potatos work great

At the top of every page here is a link to the wiki. It has a page with common ammunitions and thier properties, and if you think of anything else - add it in. Hopefully this way there will be a good guide of what things fit what size barrel.

in a 1.5" barrel you can use the SCREW ON milk caps as wadding. they fit almost perfectly. the snap on dont. my friend once said "your ammunition is only limited by your barrel size and imagination."
