The liquid nitrogen would likely only make the thermos more brittle. What result are you trying to achieve?

I'm going to have to say yes, this is a pretty daft idea.
Not only is it not really going to do what you want, it's got the risk of being very dangerous, and quite costly as well.

Sounds like very expensive ammo. It will need a large bore launcher.
Some safety considerations, the container must not be sealed. Dangerous pressure can build up.
The density is fairly low, It might not fly well.
The container might not burst on landing so the contents may just "spill"
visable fog is generated from condensing moisture in the air, not from evaporating LN2. The effect is poor in very dry climates.
Landing on a lake can be impressive.
Did I mention, it sounds like expensive ammo?
LN2 in an empty soda bottle with a loose lid may work much better. Cold plastic is brittle leading to a much higher chance of a shattered bottle and splattering of the contents for a much wider fog cloud. Remember a thermos will only be cold on the inner shell of 3. It may just dent on landing.

yea only im thinking a plastic botal will just shatter b4 it goes 2mm up the barrel and like completely ruin every thing
