It's inert, not sure if it was actually meant to be fired or just used for firing drills.  Looks like a British 3 inch/81mm round but haven't been able to identify it exactly.

It's marked "PRAC" which in all probability means "practice", there is no fuse fitted nor is provision for a fuse, and in any case the previous owner informs me he used to throw it around quite happily as a child... so yeah
