think about it if you put a egg right side up in a smaller barrel with a plug
it might work
(for those who dont know eggs are realy strong when pressed from top to bottem)
NOTE FROM PIMPMANN22: Edited title from all caps.

Sabots would work. They fall away from the projectile at the exit of the muzzle. You know you can just throw them...
Whats with the ALL CAP title? Your topic is not any more important than any other so now need for the cap lock. Seems like every time eggs get brang up for ammo the title is all cap...

You could use a larger barrel and shoot several at a time if you used a foam sabot in front and in back and you would not have to worry about them staying attached to the sabot since they are foam and will fall away after a short distance.
I've actually done this all before. They fit right into golf ball barrels. Just be careful with eggs for a few reasons. There are the obvious reasons and then there's the breakeage-in-the-barrel reason.
See, during the Kentucky Spud Gun Shootout (Memorial Day weekend 2006) I brought four dozen Vintage Easter 2005 (yes, 2005!) hard boiled eggs to shoot off. UTCPyro from Spudtech was the first to try it out. It went right down the golf ball barrel of his strongest pneumatic launcher there. The chamber was charged, launcher aimed, and trigger readied. Upon pulling the blowgun pilot there was a huge "FWAP!" and there was a horrible smell. That wasn't the worst of our worries. Along with the vomit-inducing stench came the slime. Ohhh god the slime! It was all over the inside of his barrel, the union, and dripping all over his hands! We decided to not use them without extreme care after that.

QUESTION: If your eggs were hard boiled, were did the slime come from?
