I'm currently drawing up the plans for my pneumatic QEV BB gun.
I plan on using plenty of 1/4 inch copper pipe and 1/4 inch fittings.
I would prefer not to have to use solder unless absolutely necessary.
Will something like "Just for Copper" work? I've read that it is not suggested for connections with large pipes, but 1/4 inch pipe is pretty much the second smallest size.
I also found out I can buy it for cheaper than soldering supplies.
Second, I need some 1/4 inch male NPT adapters.
I can use either the 1/4 inch copper fittings ($7.41 each) or these brass fittings ($2.55 each; website says they work with copper pipe too):

Will I have problems attaching the brass fittings to the copper pipe with either the solder or Just For Copper method?

You should be fine with adhesive, and also be looking at compression fittings. This is some good inspiration: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/copperh ... t6013.html

Thanks! Any info on the brass stuff?
Also, for future reference, is it possible to solder small copper pipes (like 1/4 inch) to fittings using a Butane torch similar to this:

?
I read on some plumbing forums that the maximum size that can be soldered with those is 1/2 or 3/4 inches. Is this true?

Probably. Although, in my area, propane is at least ten times cheaper than butane. The big flame from a propane torch will also heat the pipes MUCH faster.
