How to connect metal barrel to PVC chamber?

I'm looking for a way to connect a 2.5" steel pipe for a barrel to a 6" PVC chamber. I have no idea how I'm going to do it. Does anyone here have any ideas? I'd be nice to find thin wall 6" or even 8" steel tubing and then I'd just weld it (I wanted the whole thing metal to begin with).

More details would be nice...combustion (I suspect so.) or pneumatic?

McMaster Carr show a 6" to 3" reducer bushing and a 3" to 2 1/2" reducer bushing.

Would then have to adapt your steel pipe to the pvc bushing...perhaps using a threaded reducer bushing for the 3" x 2 1/2" and adapting to that?

Velocity...haven't you ever had a puppy?

Threaded pipe and threaded fitting.. Screw it on.

Mine are similar with plastic barrels and metal chambers. Concept is the same.
