my blow gun says it will only take 90psi does that matter when i attact it to my moded sprinkler valve?

people use 45psi ones up to 100psi, though they sometimes leak.

Yes Infernal you are right. The pressure put on the actuation valve in a piston/diaphram valve is the same as the pressure in the chamber.

But it is for a brief period of time, just the split second it takes to vent the small area holding the diaphram.

The blow gun is taking pressure as long as teh chaber is filled.

I don't know what it is with your US blowguns, but in the UK, we can easily get 10 bar (145 psi) blowguns, which could probably be used up to 300 psi without any trouble.
I suppose it's just differing economies, but a lot of what you say makes little sense. (For example, over here, QEV's are about the same cost as sprinkler valves)
But, then again, you can get your pressure rated PVC much easier.

Normally, most components have a minimum 2:1 safety ratio. Which means you can probably take your components up to about 50% over what it suggests without death or injury.
Just be careful if you do.
