I came up with this new ammo a few days ago.I made them out of 7.62x39 bullet casings and buckshot. The diagram explains it.And the pics can speak for themselves.

I thought we were shooting office appliances here...
Nice job. I like it. What's with people and bullet casing lately? Prof made a cannon out of a bullet casing on spudshot...

Well that's were I got the idea from, a hole puncher.
Well, when you're like me you end up coming back from the range with 400 empty casings. The mil-surplus stuff is junk for reloading so what do you do.Make more ammo

how accurate are they? might be useful for my Barret 14mm. im kind of dissapointed in the lack of penetration capability of marlbes on heavy armor, such as (well for spudguns) sheet metal.
also, is it possible to buy spent casings?

VH, you can buy casings.Make sure they are steel, brass just squashes on impact.I would recommend going to a shooting range and ask a guy with an AK if you can take his spent casings. Most people will just give you all their spent cases.
And the first Question, yes they are accurate.I've only tested them to 100 ft. and 120psi.They fly straight as an arrow. The can I shot is a medium gauge sheet metal you can see what it did to that.

Yep forum rules.Don't forget those.
I hope the hole punchers work in the 14mm barret.Be fun to see what they can do in a better gun.Have fun.

wait, so these get shot out of an AK? wow. these things are dirt cheap. along with an AK. wow........
these are the same diameter as a AA battery right? if so they fit perfectly into 1/2 inch copper.

Well, mine came out of an SKS, but yes same caliber. And AK's are cheap unless in the US.$350 in the states $50 in Iraq, go figure.
No, they are a little smaller than a AA.Enough that they wouldn't fit in my 1/2" CPVC barrel.I used a peice of TV antenna tubing.I think its the same stuff as a .40 cal. blowgun.
If you can get a a larger casing it should fit into a 1/2" copper barrel. But you could also wrap the projectile in tape. That would bring it up to size.

Take a hint from the people who penetrate armour like their lives depends on it, because it actually does. After centuries of research, the outstanding kinetic energy penetrator on the modern battlefield is
APFSDS (Armour Piercing Fin-Stabilised Discarding Sabot)
In spudgun terms, we're taking about a heavy nail with a couple of plywood fins epoxied to it encased in a foam sabot
