Convertible Slingshot on a Stick

Simple design, strong, convertible, lightweight, dirt cheap, easy to make.

The clothes pin trigger and another slider in reverse to be added.

Length 48" x 1" wide x 5/8" thick cut from a 4' x 8' sheet of 5/8" plywood.

Rectangular hole was cut using with drills and a shaped and angled with a file.

Nice invention, I like it!

I don't know if a clothes pin would be strong enough to hold the tension of that.

Not an ordinary clothes pin, my custom "clothes pin" can hold back a 15 pound pull.

Add a few ounces of finger pressure and it should do 25 pound.

Very cool - I like the simplicity and effectiveness. Nice work.

Once you have the design all finalized, I'd suggest adding a handle (or maybe just a forward grip on the bottom of the "stick") and rudimentary sights.

I noticed you were careful to keep it pointed "downrange" while cocking it (and I applaud your gun safety there) - I was thinking you could add a simple safety mechanism by attaching a small lever or pin that would prevent the clothespin from opening while you cock it, then release the lever/pin to put it "off safe" (ready to fire).

Peace,
Pete Zaria.
