My dad agreed to buy me a high speed camera, but he didn´t think that the poor quality and 1000 fps will do any help with my hobby and told me to look for some profissional one (something that doesn´t looks like a regular camera, as I already have 2 cameras that can record in Full HD)
Any suggestions? I just want a thing that records videos in high speed and good resolution

Is your dad willing to buy you a camera that costs as much as a very decent car?

I don´t mind to know the price actuallyIs your dad willing to buy you a camera that costs as much as a very decent car?
Probably not, but I don´t need 1,000,000 fps right now neither , I´m hoping to find something that records around 1000 fps with good resolution, with no extra functionalities

I'm not sure if there is a intermediate between cameras like the Nikon J1 and the Casio EX-F1 and the 'cheap' Phantom cameras that start at around $50,000 I believe. I think the closest you will get is finding a high speed camera for about $30,000.wyz2285 wrote:I don´t mind to know the price actuallyIs your dad willing to buy you a camera that costs as much as a very decent car?

The i-SPEED FS retails for $150,000 apparently but the i-SPEED2 goes for just under $40,000. The i-SPEED2 'only' has a maximum resoultion of 800x600 as well.
I see two alternatives. Hire a high speed camera for about $4000 per day or settle for a contraption that is capable of photos like this:

The mass/volume of water is more then the cap and when the water exits the confines of the bottle the cap follows it. Thats why the cap winds up where it does. Thats my theory and I'm sticking to it!

Alright, inside the Casio series, witch one is the best for high speed recording?

Casio ex-f1 offers the highest resolution AND framerates, but it is now discontinued and, iirc, sells for quite a lot of money. Like ~$2k.
If you're feeling ambitions, you could try making one.
Alternatively, find a used one

The problem with used ones are that usually the shipping is only to US.
