Time Zones are a big problem. Pimpmann22 used to organise a fair amount of chat room discussions, maybe he will start some more up.

Don't bump every time you are in the chatroom. Just racking up posts doing so.

I have yet to see a true chat system that survived very long without females being involved in some fashion...

...
I don't believe there's much need for a chat system...a real time assist scenario possibly. Like Crowley said, time zone issues and the global nature of the internet make "chatting" a little difficult to coordinate and frankly, old school. The forum format is much superior for most of our spud type conversation...IMO of course.

I would love to be able to discuss my problems (spudgunning of course) in real time.

Why not just throw your problem out in the forum and get your answer within minutes...rather than wait perhaps a week or more before a planned chat?

Or just add a bunch of people on MSN/AIM.
