I am building an hho generator aka electrolisiser. I was wondering if I could use abs in this case. You know the black stuff at home depot. Thnx for the help

Are you going to use the electrolyzer at high pressure?

I'm using ABS in mine, shouldn't be an issue since you don't want HHO at a very high pressure anyhow.

that's what I thought since you can buy bigger diameter abs than PVC at home depot

You should look up the chemical compatability of ABS and strong bases like NaOH (sodium hydroxide). Eventually, to get the best performance from the cell you'll probably want to use NaOH (or other strong base) as the electrolyte.

Pressure shouldn't be a problem as long as you are sure there is no possible way for the gas outlets to get plugged. Running a sealed electrolysis cell may well build up enought pressure to rupture ABS (or PVC).
