Well as some of you might know, not only do I spend my plethora of free time building spud guns, I also build things I can ride. example: pogo stick (woot, thanks).

So for some time I've been thinking about this motorizing of my longboard. I have already built one prototype but it was really flawed. My second attemp, this one, is much more "ligit"

It has a 47.2cc 2 stroke john deere motor, a centrifugal clutch and is chain driven (#25 chain). The frame and everything is all custom; the hub for the rear/drive tire was made from a 1 1/2'' flange and a 1 1/2'' close nipple (I drew on my spudding knowledge the overcome the design obstacle). It has manly training wheels, that it needs because with out them it is really squirly. The whole thing is controlled by a hand throttle/kill-switch that is tethered to the unit.

I don't have any videos yet because of the rain but I can assure it runs. I took it out just to try it and it pushed me along for a good mile at about 15-20 mph.

comments and questions are most definitely wanted and if you have seen anything pretty similar to this on the net please tell me because I've been looking all over for it.

First off open another tab on your browser and go to the exact page you want to link to....copy its URL to the clipboard. Close the tab and come back to your the edit screen. Pick a word or words you want to make a link and highlight them. Click on the URL button. This will enclose the word or phrase with the URL tags. In the first URL tag put your cursor directly after the L and insert an = sign with no spaces before or after. Then paste the URL in your clipboard directly after the = sign.

That's it. Continue to edit as you normally do making sure you don't delete or misplace the URL beginning and end tag. If you ever want know how to do anything like that you can always quote someone who has done it and inspect it in your edit box. Here is your above link...

I don't skateboard now because no health ins. :(
But I still plan to build my motorized rollerblades.
I had a dog that would pull probably 25-30mph sometimes when I got the idea!
Pitbull=had to buy new wheels!

Cool work! Watch out for potholes.
I'll try to find a link for related stuff.
Did the clutch come attached to the motor or was it added?
Also, maybe a smaller rear sprocket would give more speed.

BTW, Never saw the pogo post before. But I just read all 6 pages. 8) !

Well there's your problem! :lol:
It looks like it would be fun to ride around on.
