And I don't think I'll be finding it... so I'll have to get a new portable media player.
Now I dunno if I want an iPod this time around because they are so expensive, so i was wondering what other people have that aren't iPod that are really nice? I'm lookin for around 8gb capacity, but the more the better.
I'm lookin to keep it under 150 if thats at all possible, I might just go on ebay i spose, but opinions are still welcome
Thanks

I bought one of those 8gb knock offs from ebay. Cost was about $40 shipped.
It works, is the only good thing I can say about it.
Very slow to change settings or modes. (press the button and wait 2-3 seconds for anything to happen)
I wouldn't buy another one.
You pay your money and you take your chances.

Then it's probably a fake one
Just like an I-Phone, the faked versions are called: hi-phone, I-pfone, and so on. They are 99% same as a normal real ones, but have slower(cheaper) processor chips

i'd get the second generation nano 8gb. i had one and it survived 2 drops in water. the case is aluminum and strong. i fell on it alot and it worked perfect. it also fits perfectly in that key pocket no one uses.
i payed $200 for it (refurbished) the day before the price dropped and the video nano came out. sense the 4th gen is out the 2nd gen should only be like $149. to save more money get refurbished. it's worth it to always have ur music on hand.

I'd get an iPod again. In my opinion, they are the best MP3 on the market. They are expensive, but worth it.

What you could do is find a broken ipod on ebay that has only a broken screen and then buy a new screen they are like $4 and broken ipods i have seen as low $1 so its a pretty good buy as long as you know only the screen is cracded or something just a sugestion.

My buddy got one of those too. They're called Chipods and he seems happy with it. I got a SanDisk Sansa for about $60. Very small, has a belt clip, and 2GB of storage. Can't play videos though.

if ur not a ipod repairman. make sure u get it from the apple website. even experienced buyers get ripped off on ebay, constantly.
i used to hate them cuz i couldn't program and hack them as easily as cheaper ones. but now that i don't have time for that anymore the ipod is the easiest and quickest way to enjoy ur music. what i love the most is the quick setup with itunes and the EQs. playlists r awesome, too.
i don't think u should get a zune, ever. to much time and memory goes to the flashy graphics and menu animations.
i first suspected this when i turned one on and a load screen popped up (and took forever). it's a windows product so it's gonna have some problems (which my friend's have had too much already). it's not very simple to load ur music and vids on. u might even have to do it twice because it might not have loaded right the first time.
the ipod is much more simple. it rarely fails. and it's much more worth it if u get it refurbished. all it means is that it was used once, returned, fixed up to perfection, and sold with a warranty. they work like new and look like new. save urself some money.
if u want something pretty and flashy (American) to show off to ur friends than get a zune.

If you are thinking of getting another Ipod then you might checkout the refurbs at Apple's store. Not bad deals with free shipping and a one year warranty.

Insignia Pilot. I got the 4gb model and its great. Even supports Bluetooth wireless earphones, also made by insignia so compatibility isnt an issue. The player is like $175 and the headphones were $50. Best buy carries them and i think theres an 8gb model too.
