I'm in San Diego right now and tommorow I will hopefully go through MEPS with no hitches.
If any of you remember I was interested in the Navy and I will hopefully be swearing in tommorow.

Now, you're just asking for a wish of luck.
I could be evil and supply you with bad luck, but won't, because that would apparently be wrong. So... Have some slightly positive luck. If I give you full good luck, you'll have none of your own effort to thank.

And I love swearing in... "Drink! Feck! Arse! Girls!"

It should be noted, I don't watch Father Ted, but I couldn't resist the joke.

Only Jack,
Jack would it be odd to say that I had a dream that I ran into you in public?
Yes, in one of my dreams I was at a restaurant and you were at the table behind me and I overheard your conversation and after hearing it I realized it was you....hmm odd.

Well anyways errhm....

Everything went great and I am now enlisted as a HM, Hospital Corpsman and will be leaving for bootcamp August 25, 2009.

Wow, that's quite a waiting time. I assume their requirement for that particular role didn't open up until that timeframe and that if you had chosen other different work, you could have gone in sooner.

Do you have medical or paramedical training of some sort?

Actually I wanted to go in as a Machinery Repairman, but I saw HM and I had a change of mind. I am really skeptical of all of the jobs that the Job profiler said were available considering that I still have to graduate and I had to wait anways, he gave me a really short shitty list of jobs with only a few decent jobs. In a way I feel deceived and cheated.
I am happy with my job, regardless I still feel as though he lied to me.
I scored an 86 on my asvab, why the fuck was he pushing me to be a secretary or a storekeeper. Not that I don't respect those who do have those jobs, its just not me. Especially when I have 9 months to wait for any job that I want.

I don't have any medical training, although I could share a few stories about "operations" I have performed.

They're just trying to fill the jobs no one wants...probably get a bonus if they fill certain roles.

In any case, your life will get very interesting. Make the best of it and learn a lot. Try to check in with us on occasion.
