Dude there is a show called Jericho. I think it says stay back 200 ft so that they can see you in their mirrors.

how many horsepower is that truck? what kind of engine? oh, and do you get to use the jaws of life?

That is the truck that has the hydraulic apparatus, i most likely will train with it to learn to use it in that event, but odds are i wont be using it in a real situation for at least 2 years. If there is someone trapped in a car and it is required that we fuck the car up, we need someone to do it who knows what they are doing. I start my training on apparatus tomorrow.

The truck also has rediculously bright light poles that mechanically rise up from up. They are remote controlled. It also has a huge air compresser, god knows what you could launch with it.

No idea what the horsepower is, but i can guaruntee its alot... Thing is packing weight...

As for the keep back 200 feet, im not really sure, i was driving beside it earlier today passing the fire department and it was bumper to bumper.
Odds are it is for accident scene etc etc.

That truck also packs the handheld gas saws that basically rip through just about whatever they need to.

By the way, in comparison to the actual ladder truck, the cost of that one is nothing. The ladder truck cost over 1 million dollars.

WOW! on your spare time, drive the truck to a big field, and launch stuff with it. the site says 16.somthing cfm.

I will ask them if we can try it... its 16.2 cfm at 175 psi. The vortex u could make or cloud would be a killing machine. Its got like 2-20 horsepower or more.

I was over there for 9 hours almost today. I was messing with the jaws of life and stuff (not plugged in but still sick to hold) They have alot of different ones. They cost a few grand each.

yeah, they have this "citizens academy" here in white lake. it is free. you do all kinds of stuff, but you have to be 61 to do It. My mom did it, and she got to cut apart a car.
EDIT:16 NOT 61!!
