I mostly looking for an easy triggering system
If you have made a crossbow would you be able to post some pics

I made a crossbow from polypropilen tubes. They are strong but the thing has no power at all.I mean it's weaker then a bottle combustion.I would post pics of the triggering mechanisam if I have camera..You better not waste your time.Just make a pneumatic.

a triggering system that you could use could be heavy gage wire possibly a coat hanger (depending on how heavy the load the bow produces) in the shape of an "s" where the "s" is tilted to the left to lay on its side and bottom part of the s extends straight out for the trigger and the top part of the "s" acts to hold the bow string. the lower half where the lower loop occurs is where the mechanism is turned about an axis. the tension of the bowstring acually makes the mechanism hold until you squeeze the elongates bottom of the "s" rotating the whole mechanism about its axis releasing the bowstring. this was very difficult to type however i hope you can understand it or that at least it sends you in the right direction.

in the stock where the bow is at full tencion make a notch then put a hole down to were the trigger should be then make a trigger so when it is pulled back when u pull the trigger it lifts the string over the notch

My friend used a door knob. The handle was the trigger and the actual metal part that would go into a door frame held back the string until the handle was turned.

LOL!! That door knob thing is awesome. Thats would be cool to make your car start with a door knob when you turn it.

I am currently designing a cross bow that shoots paint balls, golf balls and tennis balls, so googling crossbows I found a site that has a "stonebow" it is a crossbow but has two strings with a pocket in between the strings that a rock is suppose to go in but I want to shoot paint balls with the expense of a paint ball gun. This thing has a black powder types trigger instead of a lever. Just google "stonebow and it is easy to find as its the only one.
