I loved that book ender's game. I read the whole series.
I also liked "Prey" by Michael Crichton, it was one of the best books I've ever read.
"Quicksilver" by I think its a Tom Clancy book. Not too sure.

I found that "War of the Worlds" was very unique and intriguing
It was also pretty far ahead of it's time in my opinion

Backyard Ballistics sucks...
Anywho....
Fantasy:
A Song of Ice and Fire series:
A Game of Thrones
A Clash of Kings
A Storm of Swords
A Feast for Crows
Together they are about 4k pages I think
Lord of the Rings is alright, or the Hobbit for light reading
Sci-Fi
Otherland Series:
City of Golden Shadow
River of Blue Fire
Mountain of Black Glass
Sea of Silver Light
3,500 pages?
Dune:
A whole bunch of em! Probably 12,000+ pages
Fiction:
The Life of Pi (350ish pages)
Night (Great book, really short, 100 pages or so)
Rainmaker (600 pages?)
The Firm (250?)
That is it for now. Not sure what kind of books you like, how long, series, etc.

The Stand, From a Buick Eight (I know, Steven King
)
Salt: A world history (don't knock it 'till you've read it) The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Nineteen Eighty-Four (the classic), Fahrenheit 451 (savor the irony of reading it on paper), The Alphabet of Manliness, Ghost Ships, and Internal Fire: the history of the internal combustion engine 1673-1900 (good luck finding it)
And I agree, Backyard ballistics sucks. And I thought it was Da Shit when I first read it

backyard balistics is a great begginer book and realy what got me into spudding in the first place. sure its a bit basic now that i look back at it but i think it needs to be basic so people have a place to start
