You don't really have to worry about getting hurt. The stuff is relatively safe. Just don't stand near the lit end, or hold it. It shoots a decent sized flame out the front and sometimes spits little chunks of stuff. I've made this tons of times. I love it, it's sp much fun. P.S. where are you getting your KNO3? I got mine from "stump out" and from the pharmacy.
Just make sure that if you buy stump out, that it isn't little blue balls. It should be a white powder. Make sure that the active ingredient is potassium nitrate and not sodium or anything else, or else it burns you lungs.

Where can you buy stump out? Since it's like an explosive, would just like Fleet Farm carry it??

Stump out is carried by most hardware stores. It's kind of a hit or miss type of thing. The kid on the video said he got it from home depot (I'm gonna check there later today ), but I got mine from Ace Hardware. You really just have to go check. I don't really know what Fleet Farm is, but some farm stores have 40 lb bags of it for fertilizing! Now that's some good shit right there!

You don't know what Fleet Farm is!!!!!!!!! Lol that's okay its in the midwest.
Wait now I'm confused. Is it a fertilizer, or an explosive to blow out stumps??

No, but it can be used to make explosive. Obviously, because it burns.

Alright, I'll exlain it. The active ingredient is Potassium Nitrate, or KNO3. It has a variety of uses. It is a fertilizer (used for returning nitrate to the soil, as many crops use it up), a "drug" (no you can't get high on it ), and an oxidizer of sorts. It is by no means an explosive. The army used to actually put it in the food of the soldiers because it was widely believed that it stopped little willy from giving the full salute, if you catch my drift. (it doesn't really). The directions for stump out are "drill a bunch of holes in the stump, and fill them with the stump out. Take kerosene and pour it into the holes. Let it get soaked up/sit for a while, blah blah blah. Then light. It WILL NOT blow up. It will simply smolder until there is no stump left. Hope that cleared things up!

OK my bad, I was thinking ammonium nitrate. That's what they used in the Murrah bombing, if any of you know what that was.

This would work good for paintball smoke screens!

stump remover is not an explosive it is a oxidizer for black power and stuff like that. and it does not explode to answer your question when in mixture burns slow to burn stump to remove it.

My thoughts exactly.

It is good for paintball smoke screens, but it burns really hot and can't be thrown near people. Other than that, yes it makes GREAT paintball smokescreens.

Potasium nitrate is a fertilizer as well as its common name of saltpeter.yes the fertilizer is the best because it is straight Potassium nitrate. The stumpout stuff is mixed w/other junk. It never occured to me to boil the mix I'll have to try it out.I'd always used powdered sugar and melted it on a hot plate.

I hope you mean powdered sugar, as in finely ground up sugar crystals, and not powdered sugar as in "baker's sugar" because that stuff is mixed with corn starch.
