I got a Brass Eagle Avenger from my friend for $20 USD the other day (:D) and was wondering since it didn't have a regulator, would it be ok to use C02 or would it freeze up the insides? I asked him and he didn't know, because he always filled it at the field with air.

NOTE: This is my first gun, and I'm just getting into paintball, so bear with me.

that gun is specificaly made to run of co2. its pressure range is right around that of a co2 tank... so your good.

It wont ruin the internals. that is more focused on guns with electropnuematic valves and mutiple regulators and such.

is there an allen nut in the back of the gun where that silver peice is. right under the bolt. if yes then turn it in and it will turn up the velocity and visa versa.

An allen nut, umm, there's a little thing that takes a hex wrench. Oh and the whole silver deal slides out, but I'm afraid I might mess it up if I take it out...

Co2 on a paintball gun is fine. Most all paintball guns are designed to use Co2, there are a few that are recommended to have only air but they are expensive. The gun you have will run Co2 without any problems (unless your shooting down all the time (allowing the liquid Co2 to drain into the gun) or shooting in cold weather (not warm enough for the Co2 to turn into a gas)). Some people when shooting rapidly get some liquid Co2 in the gun (shooting faster than the liquid can expand to a gas), looks like snow coming out of the gun. Sometimes too much freezes the gun and you have to wait until everything defrosts before using again.

Yes, liquid Co2 is bad for the O-rings but in my Tippmann 98 Custom, I have never had to replace an O-ring or have the gun freeze up (even in conditions where it would have normally) because I use excess oil in the gun, instead of a few drops before screwing the Co2 on, I soak all mechanical workings and O-rings in the gun + pour about a dozen drops before screwing on the Co2.

Are you starting Woodsball or Speedball? The gun you have is an OK first or second woodsball game but if you want a real gun that is customizable and highly upgradable + very inexpensive get a Tippmann 98 Custom (not the model 98), next step up from the 98 Custom is the A5.

Yeah, both those posts were really helpful. I'm not too worried about the O-rings, he recently had them replaced.

I'm doing more of a speedballish thing, like those fields with junk scattered aroud them, sometimes inflateables. We can occasionally go to the woods behind my friend's grandpa's house.

About oiling, I put it in the little socket thing where the C02 tank goes?

I just baught another gun for 60$ at sport Chalet
It is a veiwloader Charger and will shoot 13 Bps (e-trigger)
I just used it all day today and loved it. The only complaint i have about it is that it is a gas hog because it has no expantion chainber or regulator.
For someone just gettong into the beautiful sport, I highly reccomend this gun!!!

Yea, there is a little hole in there that allows the Co2 and oil into the braided steel hose and then into the gun. If you are feeling up to it, fully dissasemble the gun, clean each part, oil, and assemble. Also you can remove the barrel and drop a dozen drops of oil into the workings of the gun, sit it upright overnight to allow the oil to move along the parts.
