I'm not quite where you were going with this either, but it's sure a good excuse not to do my summer math packet! It is definitely interesting though... I'm still super envious though that those little kids get real shotguns while all I got from my parents is a cheap swiss army knife  I feel cheated...

Basically my point was to show that plenty, average, sane people own firearms.

I've taken an interest in guns lately, but people seem to think that I'm crazy for wanting a gun. If only people understood that guns are NOT terrible, the world would be a safer and better place.

And this video also disproves the stereotype that only fat, sweaty, rednecks have guns. That pisses me off severely.

There are a lot of good, sane people with guns. Probably more so than bad, insane with them. It is unfortunate, however, that the only ones you hear about having them is those bad, insane people. And its these type of people that put a bad impression on guns (or is it just the liberals who want an excuse for everything).

It goes back the old saying, "Guns don't kill people. People kill people."

The sad thing is, however, that the only people we are going to hear about with guns are those bad, insane people. Maybe this Cassidy fellow can get his point across to some of these people that guns are not bad.

Oh, and maybe it is those people who think you're crazy for wanting a gun that are actually crazy. I own several and I'm not crazy.

By the way, I earned 5 Spud bux spud bux for this post.

Just like some people say, guns don't kill people, people kill people. Also, if the government tried harder to get rid of drugs, they wouldn't have to worry as much about guns, since most murder is somehow involved with drugs.

I completely agree. Someone should really read his book.
By the way, I wonder were we stand in this political debate as spud gunners. Cause I'll be honest, some of the crappy cannons I've shot off really seem like they'd do more damage than a gun... I'm pretty sure they're considered firearms in Texas...

EDIT: That post earned me 3.26 spud bucks! :D

about drugs and violence, the only reason they come hand in hand is cause both of them are illegal. if someone starts smoking pot, they might start doing other drugs, and after these drugs they aare thinking " hey im breaking the law and its easy". prolly not those words, but you get the idea. so then they feel they can do other stuff. putting harder rules on drugs is actually a bad thing.

Actually, drugs and violence are related by one thing: Money. Marijuana isn't that bad of a drug but it does lead to other types. That is why it is sometimes called "the gateway drug." Once people are hooked on the more dangerous drugs such as cocaine and meth, they become so infatuated with them that they don't care how they can supply their habit. That's when the violence comes in. They begin to rob and kill for the sole purpose of supplying their habit.

Also, most of these dangerous drugs alter one's perception to the point that they may not know what they are doing, or they just don't care. They become aggressive and the smallest thing can set them off. I don't feel that people commit violent crimes just because it's easy. Although, it would be much harder for them to commit these violent crimes if more good, sane people were packing heat.

"we love guns" "we love guns" aaah boy scout camp! i think that it my responsability to own guns. certian people, (joanaardy) will say that there is never a circumstance where you need an assault rifle or a gun, but i like to think that i am at least close in arms with my government. im not dissing anyone on this forum, and i respect everyones entitlement to their own opinion, but there are so many circumstances in which i would greatly prefer to be armed. one of these is the home invasion. i have a poster that reads, " the average response time of the police is over 4 minutes. the velocity of a .357 magnum round is over 1,000 feet per second. if your life is on the line, which would you choose? i would rather fend off some burgulars with a shell loaded with sock salt or some 00 buckshot than risk my life fighting them hand to hand. even on the street, packing a .357 would sure make me feel safer, knowing that if my life was in danger i would be able to put down 6 potential attackers. there are news reports where people carrying concealed have stopped bank robberys, stick ups, and other violent crimes. it jsut seems ridiculous to say that the only people who can have a certian type of firearm is police, or federal crime units.
in the upcoming presidential election, there will be several candidates who will be running, one of whom is Hillary Clinton. Now WAIT A SECOND!!! I though there was some sort of rule that prevented someone from serving more than two terms in office. Vote Against Hillary: Presidential Elections 08

They aren't.

People, stop saying how many spudbux you're getting. It's annoying. The only reason hubb017 said it is because of a typo. Hence why he said spudbux twice.

being the gateway drug is because of legal issues. once you start smoking it and its illegal, you start getting connections to other drugs and you think" why not?"

It's just one of those things I tend to ignore, because it doesn't affect my forum browsing experience.

Actually, I think they are. Look at this link under the "Spud guns in the United States" section.
