This was recommended to me by Ragnarok here. Just because I haven't seen these anywhere else, I was wondering if anyone else had used them and could tell me if they are good for this task.

It's going to be my pilot valve for the QEV, I think that's what it's called anyways.

I've never personally used one but I've seen them used in place of blowguns to pilot valves before - for a QEV (probably a 3/4" or less?) I'm sure it will work just fine for a pilot. Plus, Ragnarok knows his stuff.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Ok thanks! Just being careful, I don't have much of a budget at the moment.

I'd do a good search to find the good place to buy then if your budget is short - slide valves are a little pricey.

It's very good for semi auto, with a compressor, CO2 or HPA setup.

It seems as though it's a bit expensive (£8+) if you're on a budget, but it would defiantlybe able to pilot your QEV. If you have a blowgun or a ballvalve around your house to use, I would use that instead, because a QEV is pretty sensitive, so it won't rreallymatter if you pilot it with blowgunor something similar(unless you want super-fast opening speeds).

Alright. And by limited budget, I meant I probably won't want to spend more than $50 on the whole gun. Is that feasible?

Based on the sort of things you want, $50 is a very very tight budget. You'll either need to cut back a lot on design, or make a larger budget.

Unless I have my setup wrong, seems like those two valves are the expensive parts. Unless of course I went back to using a blowgun.

By the way, we might as well merge this with the other thread.
