This might be a little farfetched, but with some time do you think it is within reason to try and develop a compact golf ball gun which:
1. Scare the poopers out of nearby golfers.
2. Haul a golfball atleast 250 yards.
AND!
3. Fit in a golf bag?
I think it would be pretty awesome.
And I realize that if I wanted to keep the noise down there would have to be limits on dimensions and other aspects..
Edit:
I am not exactly the spud king, I only have two guns .

Concealed "Caddyshacker" Pneumatic (Design Posted)
i think that's a good way to get kicked out of a golf course. and yes you can go it, it would be very very easy.
"physics, gravity, and law enforcement are the only things that prevent me from operating at my full potential" - not sure, but i like the quote
you know you are not an engineer if you have to remind yourself "left loosy righty tighty"

I will try to upload some design options within the next days...
I am thinking 3" chamber @ 24" with the golf ball barrel poking noticeably out of the bag (I will just put a head cover on it).
Inline design probably.
I just suck at electronics. I know there are a whole bunch of tutorials on solenoid valves but it would be amazing if this were remote
Edit:
If I can develop an easy way to have multiple charges on hand without CO2 I would be fine with pneumatic.

Well i'll just break a few things down for you...
1) You'll need regulated CO2 or a hand pump. Reg'd CO2 will set you back about $100 if you don't already have the equipment. And a hand or floor pump will be cheap, but you'll have to pump the gun up everytime which will seem very suspicious.
2) Do not use it to try and 'land a golfball near golfers' or to scare them, that's illegal and very dangerous.
3) A 3" chamber is way overkill. A simple 2" chamber 24" long will be more then enough to send a golfball 250yards with the right valve.
4) Inline, makes the gun less compact. If you use an 'over under' design, you can have a longer barrel, better valve etc.
5) Valve, i'd go for a 3/4" QEV minimum, possibly even a piston valve. Hell you could use a co-axial piston configuration with 300-350 yard performance.
A 3" chamber that doesn't extend out the bag and a 1.5" barrel that doesn't extend too far out will suffice. You should be able to get like a 3' or 4' barrel inside a bag with a little coming out the top.
6) Trigger, I'd go pneumatic for the performance increase and ease.

I think I am sold on Pneumatic now, so if a mod finds this post, I can rename it when/if they move it to pneumatic discussion.
On Mr. Crowley's part, thanks a lot.
I am trying to grasp some sort of an interchangeable tank option, for three or so shots, that should be suffice, you think?
For shooting people, thats a no, I would just want to test out my accuracy and have a great time with friends.
This was the valve I had my thoughts on, pretty basic.
I was thinking http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/sto ... 457+501170
I think I would go with a blowgun and then a schrader valve for airing up.
I have an awesome design in mind and if I can I will scan it up tomorrow. I find it intriguing and unique, hopefully it hasn't been done yet .
Again, thanks to the community for helping me out with this one.

lol, that would be cool if there was a tube to the club (hallowed) with a fake head so the end has a hole, so the club is the barrel, would be a fat club though..
What?!?! PVC clubs arn't allowed?!?!
i can imagine that

Here is the design I drew up today (pending as it is currently as PDF)
The only design flaw I think I might run into is deals with the overlapping PVC. If you look towards the front of the barrel, there is a chamber that surrounds the barrel. I am not positive but wanted to give this a shot. I would use reduce bushing, and spindle sand the stop in the bushing.
The only thing that scares me at this point is the strength of that joint when glued, as I can only get the outside of the barrel to have the glue on it.
And if a mod stops by on this post, please move it to Pneumatics. Thanks for the help.
