If you put a spring behind the piston, you couls fill chamber -side.
Piloting could be done through a hammervalve.
That way you are free to add any stock you like....
With your lathe-skills you could make a large slide valve...wich would give you similar merformance to the ballvalve...

Oh my friggin god stop being so awesome, that thing is pure kick ass. Most innovative and creative pneumatic that the files have ever come by!
Can't ask for a better compliment!!

-congrats! i just crapped my pants, I think I wont be wanting to play air soft with you any time soon. I just cant believe that a 6mm PLASTIC airs oft bb can penetrate wood! I don't think you realize how lucky you are to be blessed with proper machining tools, and the skill to use them -extremely- well. Your gun is more art(admittedly if it was it would be an abstract) than a mere spudy.
I SALUTE YOU!

I think you'll find thatif you throw them hard enough, plastic BBs will go through a lotdilweed wrote:I just cant believe that a 6mm PLASTIC airs oft bb can penetrate wood!

Thanks dilweed
I have about 2 years of lathe experience, and I am thinking of buying my own mini/hobby lathe, so I can learn about thread cutting and stuff like that so I can make my own couplers and stuff..

The part that the piston rubber seal against is custom made out of an solid 25mm brass rod. It's turned on a lathe and soldered it in the ¾" to 28mm nipple.turner wrote:I've read all 6 pages but what's the piece the seals on? Is it like custom machined

Jezus!
Hahahaha
The response of those unfamiliar with the power of high pressure spudguns is priceless...
Bet your friend wasn't expecting it to sound like a real shotgun..
Your neighbours are definitely not happy...
What was the ammo?( edit: 30 bb's never mind)
And..it seems to have a lot of recoil, but I'm quite sure most of it is thrust from all that air stored in that big chamber..
It's a bit like a high powered bottlerocket.
It seems pretty much equal to Psycix' gun powerwise...Same kind of rediculous BANG at 40 bar..
Seems like you could get a smaller diameter chamber and get the same power but less noise..And less " recoil" ..
But I'm guessing that you like it this way....
It's just a tip, not criticism...I love it even more after seeing the vid..
Again...priceless...

Haha BANG-Jezus!
Well, kinda logical that they are somewhat similar, as both have a bit of BTB-DNA in them.

I guess so, however this valve is better flow-wise.BTB wrote:It seems pretty much equal to Psycix' gun powerwise...Same kind of rediculous BANG at 40 bar..

I can see that your fridge compressor works fine
that's impressive but you might want to use heavier ammo in your future videos
you might have noticed that marbles are really poor projectiles as far as external and terminal ballistics are concerned...
IDK much about terminal ballistics but I've modelled 16mm (5g) marbles in chairgun and after covering about 31 meters they only have 50% of their muzzle energy
IDK how accurate is chairgun in predicting wound channel depth but when I compared marbles to 9.65mm ball bearings they penetrated only half as deep (5cm and 10cm respectively; muzzle velocity - 160m/s for both projectiles - with the same muzzle energy marbles score even worse)
