I've been away for a long time now and am amazed by some of the new cannons that have been made. I am currently planning a drum-mag fed lever action pneumatic and was wondering what I should use as a pilot, i'm looking to be running at around 300psi max for the prototype, 800psi un-regged co2 for the final. Any input would be nice, I'd hate to ruin what is going to turn into such an expensive project.

It depends what you need... Slide valve sounds appropriate in this situation and are made for CO2.

And really... Mike Hunt... Very funny.

Sign of jubie humor. As long as the posts are on topic, I ignore usernames for the most part. Mike, do you have any new projects? Did you ever get an air cannon completed or are you still in the realm of combustions?
It looks like you may have had an interest in an air cannon at one time.

I made a couple of pvp and sprinkler valve pneumatics, just ones that ran off of my bike pump. This will be my first serious attempt at a co2 powered cannon, I have everything but a cheap adapter piece to make my pait-ball tank fit my regulator and I finally got access to a machine shop so I was going all out. have everything planned and ready to roll was just having a couple questions about my pilot valve.

And what is jubie humor?

I might throw a prototype together beforehand out of pvc just for fun but I doubt it, the mechanism for the lever action isn't exactly the easiest thing to make and without the use of the shop (they won't let me use their tools on pvc, no way lol) i'd ruin more plastic then I even need for the project. but who knows, I do have a lot of pipe laying around.
