Yes, the valve was DWV, but to be honest, I don't think even Sch40 would have survived. To clarify, it wasn't due to pressure, but the piston impact, that the valve broke. And when it did, the piston was 20 feet behind the cannon . For the rebuild, the section between the Sch 80 tee and the sch 80 female adapter will be sleeved in pipe and probably secured with machine screws. I'm not taking any chances with this valve.
And here's another video. Funny story behind this one, we couldn't find the rocket anywhere, so I was like hell with it, grabbed a lemonade can out of n00b's garage and some wadding and packed it down there. We fired surprise surprise the rocket was already loaded. The lemonade went about 500 feet and the rocket went about 1000. Which is not too shabby for 2 kg at 60 psi

"On a scale from 1-10, I hope you fall in front of a bus."
:white stuff pours out of piston: "What is that? It looks like milk."
"....Well... it's not milk."
YAAAAAAAAYYYY WE'RE DOOMED!

actully the sockets are not as deep on DWV, and since your valve cracked at the threads so I think the DWV is the main probelm, sch 40 and a better bumper ought to work, but after one messup you personally probably want the the best.
Umm...actually we first shattered the endcap entirely, then sheared off the end of the wye (and the attached pipe, and fill system, and solenoids). While (weaker) DVW components did play a role in this, we're mainly blaming it on a really heavy piston (~2 lbs.).
