The Recon Ops Terminator.
WOW shiny thong you got there. Looks very good.
A diagram would be nice.

Thanks for all the comments guys
I have attached a pic of the layout of the basic components of a vertical piston valve and a pic of the nylon components before they were drilled and tapped.
I decided not to create a whole new thread on the vertical piston valve because it is very simple and straight forward. The advantage of a vertical piston valve is it allows the launchers design to be in-line, rather than coaxial or over and under.

so the vertical piston is basically a homebuilt sprinkler valve with a piston, i have seen someone do that before i think..
anyway im loving those nylon parts mate, looks buet!

Aussie spudders unite!!
Well, sort of. It has the performance of piston valve and a layout of a sprinkler valve.
Thanks for the comments guys.
I have some feedback from my paintball team, the launcher impressed a lot of people at the scenario tournament, the guys liked it but didn't get the chance to use it in a game. The launcher is the first of its kind here in South Africa.
The second launcher should be done by the middle of July, it will be much better than this model, featuring mechanical activation and cleaner construction. Keep you eyes open.

Nicely made, my cast epoxy components look bad in comparison but of course the techniques I use are a poor man's substitute in the absence of proper machining facilities.

Thats a really nice gun. I like the bolt action..I admire you guys that can make those piston valves, guns. I LOVE the metal ,It makes it look BAD A$$...I think when you get around to making a stock ,it will be fenominal..Just like the rest of the gun. :salute:
Well the pics are hosted via photobucket, not sure if that is the problem.
When I get the launcher back it will be happy to receive a matt black paintjob and a proper stock. I had about and hour and a half to make the stock that's on it now.

But the small hole does contrict flow for larger barrels right? (Wich is OK for paintball but not okay for shooting trough random junk.
Yep, I would say it does. The higher pressure makes up for it. Not that the flow is bad though, it is better than you think. Of course for a better design you could make the valve higher flowing.
Forever dreaming...
So
Or just use a small barrel, not any larger then the porting.
Or build a larger valve with a larger porting to fire a large barrel at full power.

I´ve seen this type of valve before, even on this forum.
But never this freaking beautiful!!
Is the performance that much better??
